The second round of BHSC Technical Committee (TC) meetings has wrapped up by August 2024, delivering strong momentum and fresh updates across key areas.

In these productive sessions, the TCs took a close look at member participation over the past six months, encouraging more active engagement and refreshing non-participating representatives.

The focus then shifted to reviewing the work plan and progress made on both existing standards review and new standards developments. The compositions of working groups were further fine-tuned to ensure optimal collaboration.

Exciting outcomes from the Strategic Planning Session were highlighted, including new standardisation opportunities and the nomination of focus groups to dive deeper into these ideas.

Convenors from the national mirror working groups presented their reports, including updates from ISO and IEC committees and upcoming International meetings. This spurred further refinement of the national mirror working group compositions, with new members nominated to bring essential expertise to the table.

Emerging areas, such as precision medicine and AI in healthcare, were reemphasized as critical focal points for future work, energising the path forward.

With clear goals and a strong agenda in place, the meetings concluded on a high note, setting the stage for continued progress and impactful developments.
